In 2007, Sealed Air completed its largest investment to date in China with the opening of a new home Shanghai’s Qingpu Industrial Park. Located on more than 120,000 square meters, this new state-of-the art manufacturing site houses both a barrier bags and polyolefin foam plant that combine our global manufacturing expertise with local know-how to meet the growing need for new and innovative packaging solutions in China – whether it be to package and extend the shelf life of chilled meats or to provide cushioning and protection for a wide variety of industrial and consumer products.
Our new manufacturing facility in China not only represents another important step for our growth in China, but also the positive influence Sealed Air has on emerging economies. Today, are products in emerging markets all around the world are helping to maintain the improved standard of living for many consumers. We also are playing a role in stabilizing the supply and price of fresh meats by packaging beef and pork in bags that extends shelf life, allowing long-distance transport of meat into much needed areas of the country. As a company with a history of creating new markets we not only recognize opportunities for growth and the business trends that will drive that growth, but also the responsibility for our citizenship commitments to be transparent across the globe. |
